What are your admissions requirements?

All applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma, G.E.D or its equivalent as required by the State of Florida. Additionally, applicants must have state-issued identification, driver’s license and/or social security card. Applicants with a foreign high school diploma that wish to enroll must have it evaluated for its United States equivalency.

All applicants must schedule an interview with an Admissions Counselor in order to discuss their application. All minors shall be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

The Spot Barber Academy will accept by exception applicants who do not have a high school diploma or its recognized United States equivalent into the Eligible Career Pathways Program as defined in section 484 (d) (2) of the HEA. These applicants must dually enroll in a post-secondary education program while attending The Spot Barber Academy. These students are required to obtain their high school diploma or GED prior to graduating from The Spot Barber Academy.

For Active Duty military and Veteran applicants, the DD Form 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from active duty may serve as verification of high school graduation if indicated.

Do you offer academic and/or personal advising?

Yes, The Spot Barber Academy can advise you academically and personally to help you achieve your goals at our best ability.

Do students at The Spot Barber Academy receive progress reports?

Yes, The Spot Barber Academy will provide monthly progress reports to all enrolled students.

Do students work in The Spot Barbershop locations?

Unfortunately, employment at The Spot Barbershop is not a guarantee as it is not for any other local barbershop.

Do you offer financial assistance?

Yes, financial assistance is offered to all those who qualify. Our financial assistance officer or admissions representative may provide further detailed information.

Do you offer job placement assistance?

Yes. Once you are ready to graduate and preparing to take the State Exam, The Spot Barber Academy will assist you with the transition from your student life to your professional life. While we are not able to guarantee employment, we will always be more than happy to provide you with assistance in obtaining employment on your own. We also work with multiple businesses in our city in order to facilitate this process for our students.

What are my responsibilities as a student?

As a student, we expect you to attend classes and complete the program in its entirety. It is important to be respectful of your instructors and peers. Lastly, maintaining professional conduct at all times is key while you enjoy the program and learn as much as you can!

What are your graduation requirements?

All students must satisfactorily complete the program and fulfill all requirements by the Board of Barbering.
